Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015

Austria hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna after winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Rise Like a Phoenix" performed by Conchita Wurst. The Austrian entry was selected through a national final organised by the Austrian broadcaster Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF). The entry was selected on 13 March 2015. The host nation was represented by The Makemakes who sang "I Am Yours".
At the contest, however, in a complete reversal of fortunes from the previous year, following a tie-break rule Austria was placed 26th and scored nul points along with Germany (27th), they became the first countries since the United Kingdom in 2003 to score nul points at the final and also the first host nation to score nul points..
==''Wer singt für Österreich?==
On 28 October 2014, ORF announced the dates and format details of the national final to select Austria's entry for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.〔 The national final will consist of four shows that will be aired on ORF eins, hosted by Mirjam Weichselbraun. Only the grand final, which will take place on 13 March 2015 in Vienna, will be aired live. The previous three shows will be aired on 20 February, 27 February and 6 March 2015 respectively.〔
A total of sixteen acts will enter the competition. The sixteen candidates were scouted by a team of music professionals, which included singer-songwriter Anna F. and manager and musician Alex Deutsch.
In the first show, a special expert panel will decide which six acts from the sixteen candidates will proceed to the next phase. In the second show, the remaining six acts will showcase their vocal skills and talent. In the third show, the six acts will perform two candidate songs each, which will be contributions by Austrian and international producers. Only six of these twelve songs, by one act each, will proceed to the final. In the final, the six acts will perform their respective entry and the winner will be decided by a combination of televoting (50%) and 10 international jury groups (50%).〔
